Thumbs Up: Target
Welcome to another episode of Dr. Veronica Anderson’s new weekly talk radio show,Wellness for the Real World on WebTalkRadio.net. This week’s thumbs up goes to Target because it is supporting the wellness of Americans. The stores have a wonderful food section with healthful food that is less expensive than a lot of the other stores. I bought Naked Juice, Bolthouse Juice and Healthy Choice dinners, which I like to keep on hand for those rare times when I don’t eat fresh food, for less than I normally pay. Recently, the company beefed up its grocery and perishable offerings and plans to add the format at 350 stores in 2010. A few years ago, SuperTarget, the company’s larger stores which include full supermarkets, became a certified organic producer. On their website, you can access a variety of healthier recipes categorized by nutritional concerns, including fiber sources, less fat, low sodium, under 100 calories and under 300 calories. Target also works to be sustainable. They’re recycling. They’re working hard to be good corporate citizens, and helping consumers make better food choices.
